Clutch

My love for the KPC is never-ending. The Kapisanan Philippine Centre for Arts & Culture (located at 167 Augusta Ave in Kensington Market) has really ramped up their programming in the past year or so and it definitely shows. Workshops + events all over the scene, but perhaps the most impressive venture has been the CLUTCH program.

CLUTCH was a pilot program that spanned over 6 months in 2008\09 and it offered a small select group of young filipino women the opportunity to express their cultural and personal identities by creating art through a multitude of mediums. Nothing was off limits and their final products have been truly awe inspiring for me personally. The girls collectively showcased their pieces at their program end exhibition, Open Fire – The Debut. I was lucky enough to catch opening night, but there’s also a nice round up of the event over on KPC’s blog. Great job, ladies. Can’t wait to see round two unfold.

#twuneup – covers edition (Feb. ‘09)

A quick lesson in made-up words:
twunes – songs you share with other people on twitter
twuneup – monthly music meet-up where you share your twunes… but ‘in real life’

January’s “best of 2008 edition” was fun galore. Discovered lots of great music + met equally great people to boot. February’s “covers edition” followed suit and even upped the ante with live performances from some of Toronto’s finest.

I had the extreme pleasure of performing with some radass tweeps: @KidKulit + @johnpapa + @rlangdon + @flashlight = OTB (aka Original Twuneup Band, bitches!).

If you missed us live, you can catch more of our awesomeness below the cut.

PantyFest 2009

It’s that time of year again.
Panties, treats, babies and beats

PantyFest is always my absolute favourite birthday jam to attend annually. This event has grown bigger and better over time and this year is looking to be the best party yet — with 3 birthday girls comin’ atcha, panties in hand, ready to throw at your head! Here’s a little behind-the-scenes video I shot + cut on a whim last night [same day edit FTW!] with the celebrants prepping in full effect.

Dress to impress Ralph Tresvant!
Don’t let us grow old and throw panties alone. xoxo

Oh believe me, my lovelies. I would never let that happen. <3

DJ Tilt

A month ago, the United States of America inaugurated it’s 44th president, Barack Obama. A lot of people were pretty happy about it and they celebrated this glorious moment in history with about a million after parties.

DJ Tilt was lucky enough to spin at one of these parties — a grand ball hosted by Google at Andrew Mellon Auditorium. He documented the night and his adventures while in Washington, DC and I took some of this footage and edited it down into this nifty video. Enjoy!

Is This Love Worth The…

A thought-provoking question just in time for Valentine’s Day. If anything, this video serves to further prove my unwavering love for all things presented in split-screen.

For something a little less “artsy” and a little more “emo” — house music, oh you never let me down! I love the concept + cinematography. The song is not bad either.
