Twuneup Covers
0A quick lesson in made-up words:
twunes – songs you share with other people on twitter
twuneup – monthly music meet-up where you share your twunes… but in real life
January’s Best of 2008 Toronto #twuneup event was super fun. Discovered lots of great music + met some equally great people. February’s Covers edition followed suit and even upped the ante with live performances. Here is my solo venture into inappropriateness. My parents are so proud.
PantyFest 2009
3PantyFest is always my favourite birthday jam to attend. The event grows bigger and better over time and this year is looking to be the best one yet. 3 birthday girls are comin’ atcha, panties in hand, ready to throw at your head! Here’s a short behind-the-scenes video I shot + cut on a whim last night [same day edit!] with the celebrants prepping party favours in full effect.
It’s that time of year again.
Panties, treats, babies and beats
Kapisanan Centre
0In many ways, Kapisanan Centre saved my life. I became involved with this wonderful community of young, intelligent, creative, and awe-inspiring Filipinos nearly a year ago. And within that year, I’ve been able to:
- act in a Fringe Festival play that received best ensemble cast + huge critical acclaim
- perform my own music in front of a vibrant crowd for the annual summer event, Kultura
- work on tons of different productions + edit more video than I could have ever imagined
- collaborate with brilliant minds who always push the boundaries of art + culture
- embrace my roots + make a real effort to learn more about what it means to be Filipino
I’ve never been so proud to know where I come from and I feel so blessed to have met the people I have at the KPC. These are some of the greatest individuals you could ever meet. I’m grateful and honoured to be able to call them my friends. This retrospective was a pure labour of love. Thanks, KPC <3 It's been a fantastic year.
A Mercenary Tale
0Back in September, a couple of friends were working on a short film treatment. On a whim, they asked me to throw together a short edit of the project they were shooting – just something quick and dirty to see what I was capable of putting together. It’s not exactly the way I had envisioned it turning out, but 3 months later, after numerous overnight editing sessions, I finally finished my “music video” version of A Mercenary Tale.
Stop. Motion. Sickness.
0Summer nights. I love them. I miss them. Winter nights are cool too, but cruising around is obviously more fun with the warm air on your bare skin, the windows down, the music way up.
I made this video back in August, shortly after finishing a project that included some stop motion footage. It is by no means amazing (a simple test really), but I finally got around to uploading it and so I’m posting it here.
Be forewarned: It’s pretty shaky + mostly blurry. Regardless, try to enjoy it!
