Synesthetic

I am awake. aware. anew.
I can taste the cold air filling me quickly
but I spit it back up like a spectrum
refracting bright white light through my eyes
and that awkward twilight feels warmer now from out of me
I touch the sound of subtlety and leading roles
and I can see the joy in here, in the here, in the hearing
of every single electronic pulse and wave from everyone
I am light. waiting. ready.

Today, a poem + a video = a grin on my face. Tra-la-la!

Change is the new New

Happy New Year! As you can see after my birthday, blogging momentum slowed down around here. You know how it gets around the holidays — places to go, people to see, and lots of food to eat! When I finally had the chance to properly sit down in front of my computer to write, I thought for a moment that I’d try posting retroactively… faking the dates and such until I was all caught up. But I’ve decided to just start again fresh. To change it up a bit, to try something new. It isn’t what I’d normally do, but maybe that’s a good thing.

Okay 2009, you’re finally here and so far I can’t complain. Yes, I have more resolutions in my head this year than I can keep track of. And I could list them all, oh so predictably. But I don’t really want to bore you with those kinds of details (right now!). Instead, allow me just to SHOW you some of my resolutions:

I had a lot of fun making this one (as I’m sure you’ll notice from my dorky metronome dancing) and I’m quite proud of the tune too. I hope watching this video makes you feel as good as I feel about the year to come!

Saving used + damaged goods

In the midst of Christmas shopping, I found a figure whose packaging had been ripped apart slightly. Knowing full well that the item inside was still perfectly intact despite this, I asked an employee if I could get some sort of discount and managed to save nearly 25% because of the broken box that I ended up recycling anyways. Nice.

Earlier last week, I also picked up some unique music gear off Craigslist and saved a considerable amount of money by purchasing these pieces second-hand rather than brand new. Luckily for me, both were already in practically mint condition and came with their original boxes and manuals as well. Doubly nice.

So tonight, I decided to have a lil fun with my “new” toys. Hope you enjoy it and don’t forget to wear your headphones… it’s in stereo!
